In order to explore the relationship between technology and art, So Kanno and Takahiro Yamaguchi created the Senseless Drawing Bot, a self-propelling device that sprays linework using the concept of the double pendulum. Based on the dynamism of modern graffiti forms, the robot uses chaotic and expressive gestures to create erratic and organic paint strokes. Set on a motorized skateboard, the robot moves from side to side against a blank wall, resulting in a collage of lines that mimic graffiti styles.
